A Bronze Medal for Denmark!

OG_LASSE_ENGLasse Norman Hansen won the bronze medal in the omnium at the Olympic Games with a stellar performance in the points race.

Early in the final race, Lasse proved his fieriness and power by attacking and taking a lap ahead of the pack, overcoming the 26-point deficit which resulted in part from his last place in the elimination race. 

After an exciting race, in which the winner Elia Viviani came close to disaster after being hit by Britain’s Mark Cavendish, Lasse managed to finish 2 points behind Cavendish (2nd) in the overall standings the omnium.

About the Danish National Track Cycling Team

Back in 2008, at the Beijing Summer Games, the national track team won the silver medal of the Men’s team pursuit. Then at the 2012 London Summer Games, Lasse Norman Hansen took the gold of the Men’s omnium with a stellar performance in this gruelling event. He defended his title in the omnium at the Rio Summer Olympics by winning the Bronze and prove once again he has the fighting spirit of a Champion.
