What are the differences between the Kryptons CS and GF?


Since their introduction at Eurobike 2017, both Krypton CS and GF from our Endurance line have generated a lot of interest. Their similarities, however, could lead to a question: what actually distinguishes the GF from the CS?

What are the differences between Krypton CS and GF?

To fully understand the differences between the two bikes, I'd first like to explain what they have in common.

Similarities between Krypton CS and GF

Both share the same geometry and tube shapes that were developed through intensive computer simulations (FEA and CFD) and a series of comprehensive tests. Moreover, the Krypton CS and GF offer the same exceptional balance of ride comfort, pedaling efficiency, stability, handling and aerodynamics.

Both also feature the new 3DPLUS headset system, a modular cable management system and the efficiency of disc brakes and thru axles.

But they are also different in some ways. The Krypton CS frame, fork and seat post are made of carbon fiber. The CS is offered at a very competitive price for such a level of technology and performance. The Krypton GF, on the other hand, is made from a higher performance carbon fiber laminate, which allows a weight reduction of more than 300 g on the frame and fork assembly.

In North America, the Krypton CS is sold assembled with Shimano 105 components or the new Shimano Ultegra R8020 hydraulic disc group while the Krypton GF is offered with the new Shimano Ultegra hydraulic disc group, in both mechanical version (R8020) and Di2 (R8070). It is also equipped with HED wheels and a lighter monocoque carbon seatpost that makes it even more comfortable.

Weight differences and build options set aside, I truly believe both bikes are ideal for most rides, especially for the long ones on rougher roads.
