It is now official. Argon 18 bicycles will be on the start line of the 102nd Tour de France. This is the news Gervais and Martin Rioux learned this morning when the Tour de France Organizing Committee formalized the seventeen UCI WorldTeams participants for the 2015 edition, as well as extending an invitation to five professional continental teams, including BORA – ARGON 18. This news propels Montreal-based Argon 18 - innovative leader on the world stage of cycling and major sponsor for the team - among the world’s cycling elite.
"This is fantastic news. We knew the team had a good chance of being invited, given its caliber and the solid results it obtained last season. Our dream to have Argon 18 bikes at the Tour de France is becoming a reality; it’s a historic milestone for our brand. News like this really kicks off the year with a bang!", explains Gervais Rioux, president and founder of Argon 18.
"We are stronger now that we have been joined by Dominik Nerz, currently Germany's best classification rider. With Dominik we intend to compete for a top-10 position in the general classification and thus give German fans the opportunity to get excited even during the mountain stages. We can already promise that our team will make quite an impact at this year's Tour de France too," said Ralph Denk, the team’s General Manager.

The BORA – ARGON 18’s first team training camp will be held in Spain from January 18th to 28th when the riders will get on their Argon 18 bikes for the first time. Gervais Rioux and Dominique Fortin, Argon 18 Head Mechanic, will also attend to help make all necessary adjustments to maximize the cyclists’ performances. With this in mind, Argon 18 is going to conduct a day of testing on January 25th with team members, in order to optimize their positioning and equipment. BORA – ARGON 18 will launch its season at the Mallorca Challenge right after camp.
Last July, Argon 18 signed a three-year agreement with the German team NetApp-Endura, which became BORA – ARGON 18. For team management, the quality of the Argon 18 bikes was a determining factor in their choice of bike manufacturers. The agreement includes more than 100 bikes, servicing of the team, as well as an important financial contribution. Argon 18 partners with BORA, a German designer of cooktops and ventilation systems, to create a solid partnership.
